Terms and conditions
Last updated 1 November 2026
Who we are
These terms are between you and CL Uplift & Removal, 131 Foresthall Drive, Glasgow G21 4EL. Phone 07563 300076, email info@clupliftandremoval.com.
Your quote
Our price is based on what you tell us: the things to move, the addresses, access and parking, and the date. If there is more to move, or access is harder than we were told, the price may change, and we will tell you before we carry on. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Booking and paying
Your move is booked when you accept the quote and pay a deposit of 25% of the price. The rest is due on the day of the move, before we unload, unless we have agreed something else in writing. You can pay by bank transfer or card.
Changing or cancelling
You can change the date at no charge if we have room on the new day. If you cancel more than 7 days before the move, we refund your deposit in full. If you cancel later than that, we keep the deposit to cover the day we kept for you. If we ever have to cancel, we refund everything you have paid.
Your 14-day right to cancel
If you book with us online, by phone or by email, you can cancel within 14 days of booking without giving a reason, and we refund what you have paid within 14 days. To cancel, tell us clearly by email to info@clupliftandremoval.com or by phone on 07563 300076. If your move date is within those 14 days, you are asking us to start early: if you then cancel, we may keep a fair amount for what we have already done or set aside for you. Once we have done the move, the right to cancel ends.
What we ask of you
- Be there, or have someone there, at both ends of the move.
- Make sure we can park close to each address, and arrange any permit the council needs (we can help with this).
- Have everything you pack yourself packed, sealed and ready, with drawers emptied.
- Tell us before the day about anything very heavy, fragile or valuable.
Things we do not move
Gas bottles, fuel, paint, chemicals and anything else dangerous; perishable food; and plants or pets unless we have agreed it. Please keep money, jewellery, medicines, keys and important papers with you.
Taking care of your things
We handle your belongings with care and we are insured. If something is damaged or lost while we are moving it, please tell us in writing within 7 days of the move, with photos if you can, and we will put it right: repair, replace, or pay the fair value. We are not responsible for the contents of boxes you packed yourself unless the box itself was damaged while with us, or for wear and tear that was already there.
Delays
We will be on time. We are not responsible for delays we cannot control, such as traffic, weather, or keys not being released on time. If we are kept waiting for more than an hour, we may charge for the extra time at our hourly rate, and we will tell you first.
Complaints and your rights
If you are not happy, please contact us first and we will do our best to put it right. If we cannot agree, you can ask Citizens Advice for help (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133). Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. These terms are governed by the law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
